Wind, sun and waves. Each July, Fuerteventura becomes the world surf and windsurf capital. It is the easternmost island of the Canaries, the flattest and the longest. To the north, the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park and Lobos Island offer a landscape of golden sand and beaches of transparent water with shades of blue and turquoise. Mount Tindaya is still a magical place. And the volcanic areas, known as "malpais" (the badlands), such as Bayuyo, the Arenas or the Arrabales look as if they were from another world.
